Entering a Meditative State

To enter into a meditative state, you must first find a comfortable place, where it is warm and you feel secure and happy. There you should get into the most comfortable posture you can. You may lie down or sit up. If you so desire, you can stand. I suggest for your first time you get someone to read what I have written below to you slowly, one line at a time. This will greatly help you the first time you attempt to meditate.

Now, with your eyes open, take a deep breath. And as you do, close your eyes. Take a couple more deep breaths and breath calmly after that. Relax all the muscles in your body. Start with your toes and work your way up.

# Relax your toes and let them be calm, asleep.
# Now relax your ankles, let them be calm, at rest.
# Relax your calves, enter them in clam with your feet
# Your knees, your thighs and groin. Let them sleep.
# Your stomach is soft and light.
# Your chest and back are comfortable and warm.
# Now relax your arms. Let them weigh down.
# Relax your hands and fingers.
# Feel the energy of your body seep from your fingertips and toes.

As you begin to relax, remain focused on your body, keeping it relaxed. Bother not with what is around you. Nothing exists. The room does not exist. You do not exist. Only your soul, your mind, who you are. Floating everywhere.

Feel yourself througout the world, over oceans, around mountains, through trees. Now expand yourself all around. Out into the universe. You are here. Feel the warmth of life around you, the calm, the resonance of energy. Let it flow through you, let it pass within you. It is cleansing your soul, as well as your mind.

Breath lightly. In and out. In and out. Your whole body is relaxed. You have melted into the world, into everyone and everything. There is no thought, there is just the feeling, the sounds around you. Let your mind go. You are free. Remain in this state for as long as time. There is no meaning, there is only you.

Empty Mind Meditation

Empty-Mind Meditation

This is an empty-mind meditation being done well in the evening, when it's dark and silence, yet better done outside.

Sit down cross-leged and make sure you feel comfortable. Do calming breath technique. When you're relaxed close your eyes and feel the calm and peace around you. Now imagine the center of your mind. Let's see it as a 'ball' in the middle of your head through which all your thoughts flow.
See it and feel the flow of your thoughts through it, but do not think of your thoughts, just let them come and then let them go away.
You must not think now.
Do this as long as you can, three minutes or so, but in the beginning it won't be so easy if you've never done such an exercise.
Now imagine that you cover the center of your mind and so no thoughts will be able to flow in your head (You can create another layer on that 'ball' or just simply imagine to cover it by some kerchief or so, that depends on you). But still see the center of your mind, though covered, it's still there.
Your head is now empty of thoughts, pictures, emotions, fears etc., but you're still focused and concentrated.

This is helpful in learning to control one's mind and I also found it very useful in training my ESP.
May the Force be with you

Empath Exercises

Exercise One - Starting

In an effort to augment your skills at being patient as well as your empathic skills, we begin by people watching. For at least one full week's time, find a public place that has significant pedestrian (people walking) traffic. Sit somewhere and get comfortable. Your task in Exercise One is to sit and observe people.

Do not make judgments about the people you observe. Do not imagine what is going on in their lives as you observe. Just sit patiently and take in what you see.

Learn to just take note of people. Jot down any insights you gain from this in a notebook that you can refer back to at a later time. If you wish to share observations here, please feel free to do so by replying to this post.

(The process of becoming an empath occurs gradually and naturally. These lectures will suggest a one-month period in which to experiment with the exercises, but in truth, the time frame to become more empathic could take much longer or shorter.)

Exercise Two - Narrowing it Down

Moving into Exercise Two, the empath trainee continues to return to the same public place to observe people. The exercise itself closely resembles Exercise One in that you will still refrain from judgment and imagination in people watching.

The variation found in Exercise Two is that instead of focusing on people passing you in general, your task is to pick out one person per day amongst those that go by. If you can observe a person who stays in the area for a while, all the better. Again, simply sit and observe.

Record any insights in a journal.

Exercise Three - Imagination is Key

Once again, sit in the same public space and settle in to people watch. Exercise Three becomes more involved now as creativity and imagination is key.

Pick out one person whom you can observe, just as you did in Exercise Two. Again, if the person is remaining in the same area for a while, all the better. Now, your task is to sit and observe and use your imagination. Ask yourself some of the following questions and then provide yourself with the answers, from your imagination. Why is the person there? Why is he/she carrying that he/she is carrying? Why did he choose to wear what he did today? How is he feeling today?

Now, it will seem strange that you're "making things up" about the person you observe. But go with it! Really! Even though the ideas you come up with may seem extravagant and completely ridiculous, go with it for this exercise. Why? The fascinating bit about the Force and psychic skills in general is how information comes to us. It seems that you are just "making things up" about the person, but in truth, you are sensing your subject through the Force when answers come to your questions.

Continue with the exercise for several weeks until sensing a person through the Force by Q&A is natural for you.

Exercise Four - Applying to Everyday Life

Once the technique in Exercise Three is second-nature to you, the task before you, empath, is to internalize the question-asking. Instead of focusing on a person with questions as you go through your life, simply focus on them through the Force as you've learned through patient, quiet observation. The need to ask the questions will be gone and you can simply sense the answers, feeling and knowing what the person is feeling.

Exercise Five - Feedback

Of course, all the while, you might be asking yourself, "How exactly do I know what I am imagining I feel is what he feels?" An astute question! The best way to know if your empathic skills are on course is through feedback.

If you have someone offline with whom you discuss your skills and life, ask if you can practice empathy with this person. If offline feedback is not an option, talk to fellow online searchers (we'll be happy to help; contact us in the forum) and see if you can gather feedback on your skills through them. Empathy is not bound by proximity; work with it through companions you trust online.

Creative Meditation

Begin by entering a meditative state according to your preference. Once you are ready, visualize yourself at the edge of a forest. Fully picture everything around you, and yourself! What do the trees look like? How tall is the undergrowth? What are you wearing?

Once you've completely visualized the scene, walk into the forest. You are going in search of a body of water (be it a creek, stream, river... your choice). Walk until you find that body of water (for me, it's usually a semi-narrow stream).

When you reach your chosen body of water, study the current and figure out in which direction you can find the source of the water. Walk in that direction and continue to visualize everything around you as clearly as you can.

When you reach the source of the body of water, you should go ahead and get in the water at the source. Visualize yourself in the water. Are you going to swim? On your front or you back? Are you going to go inner tubing (my usual method!)? Picture it all in your meditation. Once that is set, go downstream, in the water.

Again, take note of your surroundings. Is the water moving quickly or slowly? Are there any obstacles in the body of water that you need to move around? If so, visualize and figure out how to get around them. Handle each one as it comes up.

Ride the body of water all the way back to the place where you first discovered it in the forest.

Re-emerge from the meditative state by whichever means you prefer.

Conscious Breathing

Hello,

I am paraphrasing from Peace Is Every Step by Thich Nhat Hanh.

Conscious Breathing

1. Breathe in.
2. Say to yourself, "I am breathing in."
3. Breathe out.
4. Say to yourself, "I am breathing out."
5. Or, simplify even more to say only, "In" and "Out."

Keep your mind on your breath. Your breathing, your mind and your body become more peaceful and gentle. It is an easy and enjoyable meditation.

Color Healing Meditation

Luna Rising
This is simular to other healing methods except different colours are used instead of just white light.

1. Sit comfortably with your eyes closed.

2. Visualize a large ball of radiant Golden light a few inches over your head. Visualize that ball of light slowly descending through your crown, filling your entire being with golden light.

3. Imagine yourself absorbing that light as it nourishes, cleanses & heals your whole being - your Spirit and all of your bodies - dissolving all blocked and toxic energies.

4. Repeat this exercise, visualizing a ball of Red light. Continue through the entire spectrum like this, visualizing a ball of Orange light; Yellow light; Green light; Blue light; Indigo light; and Violet light. Go through the spectrum at whatever pace feels appropriate.

5. Take some time to visualize yourself in a state of perfect, radiant health.

Light - Fire meditation

Rin-Xia Aran
First, you have to get comfortable. I suggest you lie down, it will make it easier. You must calm your mind and relax your muscles. Now, there are three parts of this.

Part one involves fusing the Force to your insides. Yes your guts. First, imagine a bright white star floating 6 inches above your head. This will serve as your "medium" as it was called. Now, think of your brain, imagine a white band of light shooting from your brain to the star. (I now this sounds weird, but stay with me) Feel your brain, imagine it now emitting a white light of it's own. It should also emit a feeling of being weighted and all tingly. Do the same with your heart and liver. Then, imagine your blood pumping through you veins. Give it a white light and bind it with the star, it should also have a tingly feel to it. Do the same with your bones. Hold those feelings.

Part two is covering your body with the Force. Make your star (which should still be above your head) open up with white light onto your body, do it one part at a time. Start with the head. Imagine it emitting light and it should have the same tingly feeling of before. Do your whole body. Go to your neck down to your feet. You may need to spend more time "lighting" an area than others, but it will work. If an area starts taking in the light before you get to it, work on that area, don't fight it. Make your whole body covered with the Force. Just lie there and feel it for a few minutes. Don't question it, just know it.

Part three is to expand your field of energy. Take your star above your head (still feeling the Force from parts one and two) and move it up to 3 feet above your head and make it expand to about 3 feet in diameter. Move it down below your feet and make it start to spin, which it will do immediately. Make it spin slow at first, but increase it's speed till it goes super fast. This is to expand your field. You should feel a vibration in the Force as you do this. Now make the star stop. Move it slowly up your body, through your feet, legs, and stomach to your chest, neck and head. Feel the Force getting stronger where the star goes. When the star gets above your head. Make it spin again and repeat the whole process.

After you are done, you should still feel the Force. It will stay with you for a while, say 20 to 30 minutes. I'm assuming it will stay longer as you get more experience. It takes a lot of effort to do this exercise, and it may also feel at times that you will be torn apart by the Force, but it won't do that I'm hoping to get so good to be able to just call on the Force in a second. Stay faithful.
